SORRY, WE ARE TEMPORARILY CLOSED

6 Women Who Make Our Lives A Little Brighter

With International Women’s Day upon us, what better time to highlight some of the women who have been bringing sunshine to even the greyest days over recent months. With so much time spent at home, many of us are spending much more time on social media, a place of connection when the outside world seems a scary place.

The women we’re championing in today’s blog have impacted our team members on a personal level, so we want to take a moment to shine the spotlight on them in thanks. If you know an awesome woman who you’d like to shout about, pop over to our Instagram page and share and tag to your heart’s desire.

Together, let’s raise each other up.

Anna | @mother_pukka

Anna Whitehouse is the journalist and editor behind Mother Pukka, a portal for news, events and reviews for people who “happen to be parents”. She also spearheads the Flex Appeal campaign, working toward more flexible working options for all. In a working world that is yet to consider the need for parents to juggle their professional and family commitments, the Flex Appeal campaign is something we can all get behind.

Kate | @clicksbykate

We may be social distancing, but life continues to go on. Pregnancy and newborn shoots are a fantastic way to capture a moment in time you’ll cherish forever, and Kate has expertly found a way to ensure you don’t miss out. Her virtual photoshoots are amazing; you can check them out over on the gram @clickedbykate. As if capturing your precious moments wasn't enought, Kate does these in exchange for a donation to the Trussell Trust, supporting UK food banks. How awesome is that?!

Emily | @thehappynewspaper

And finally, when it comes to brightening up a dull day, you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone who does it as well as Emily Coxhead. Founder of The Happy Newspaper and author of You Are Incredible, Emily decided we could all do with focusing a little more on the good in the world, leading her to create a quarterly 32-page newspaper celebrating only good news. How cool is that?!
